This program tells the history of the Naval Battle for Charleston during the Civil War as it relates to thte story of J.M. Emanuel who was assigned to the experimental ironclad, The Keokuk, in 1862. The Union vessel was one of nine ships in the battle and is speculated to still rest where it sank about 1300 yards off Morris Island under four feet of silt. (c 2007)
