(Unlimited rights) 10:00am-12:11pm * Best Practices in Science Instruction with 2008 Presidential Awardees This new series of three programs is hosted by Linda Sinclair, K-12 Science Consultant for SCDE. Each program, approximately one hour each in duration, will highlight one of the educators by showing video of classroom instruction followed by a discussion to reflect on the lesson. The three science teachers are: Alyssa Man, Diamond Hill Elementary, Abbeville County School District; Mary Meggett, Stiles Point Elementary, Charleston County School District; and Mirandi Squires, Johnsonville Elementary, Florence School District Five. 12:15-12:53pm * Best Practice in Science Instruction with Presidential Awardee Tonya Lee (2007) In this special program, Presidential Science Awardee Tonya Lee, National Awardee for 2007, will present a physics lesson. Tonya is a teacher at White Knoll High School in Lexington School District One. Also Linda Sinclair, SCDE K-12 Science Consultant, will be on hand to reflect on the science lesson with Tonya Lee. |
